What is Sugar paste and how does it compare to regular Wax?
Sugar Paste is made up of Sugar, Lemon Juice and Water.
Wax is a petroleum product, it can grow bacteria, and can be contaminated by double dipping.
Many clients have sworn that sugaring hurts less than traditional waxing.
How long does the hair need to be?
Ideally the longer the better, so after shaving 2-3 weeks growth is best.
After trimming, 1-2 weeks
The hair needs to be at LEAST the length of a grain of rice (¼ inch).
Can I be sugared if bleeding or pregnant?
Absolutely yes! The only risk is the body can be more sensitive.
I can work around the use of a tampon or a cup
The back of my bed can be raised to create a more comfortable experience if pregnant.
What if I have sensitive skin?
Sugar Paste is PERFECT for sensitive skin. As it does not adhere to the skin, rather just sticks to the hair, there is usually a bit of redness for an hour or so after.
More gentle than traditional waxing.
How do I prepare for my sugaring service?
Exfoliate day before for easier hair removal.
No lotion, or oils on the skin the day of.
Wash the area with gentle cleanser.
Please eat something at least 2 hours before service, and hydrate after.
Sugaring sunburned skin, or broken skin is not acceptable.
How do I take care of my sugared skin?
Wait at least 24 hours before sweating, swimming, sunbathing or exfoliating.
Keep skin hydrated and exfoliated for best results.
